Mahisha's Summer Look

In line with the summer theme, Mahisha now has a new look. The appa did a haircut for her using his machine. hehehehe.

I had a shock when I reached home. She came running to me when I opened the door and immediately started storytelling about the whole matter.

A Tea Party At Home

Yesterday we had a tea party at home. I love to cook and entertain guests. To my dismay, I don't always get this kind of chances as hubby rarely gets off on Sundays. So, I took the opportunity to prepared the goodies that I have wanted to eat for a long long time. I baked a moist chocolate cake and prepared the pastry for cherry tartlets on Saturday evening. On Sunday morning, made yam jelly, buah melaka and using a store bought puff pastry, baked curry puffs with potato and prawns filling. This time, hubby couldn't help much in the kitchen, like the cleaning and washing up jobs which he normally does. The reason, Mahisha was not feeling well. She has cough and fever due to sudden whether change. Yeah, the temperature suddenly rose to 26° C. Therefore, he had to take care of her while I do all the jobs.

At 3:00pm Mahisha's babysitter, Priya, her husband Sundar and their son Hari came. As they entered, the football game between Netherlands and Serbia-Montenegro started. In line with the theme, they brought a football cake!

Then, came San and Kavitha at 3:30pm. We all ate and drank coffee (though it was a tea party, I served coffee) while watching the game. I was very pleased that my guests liked the goodies that I made. Then, San suggested that all of us go to his place and have a barbeque party at his lawn for dinner. That a indeed a great idea.

We reached San's place in Bümpliz at 6:00pm which is a 10 minutes drive from our place in Brunnmattstrasse. The men prepared everything while we ladies and the kids played football at the lawn. Though Mahisha was not feeling well, she enjoyed the game. We ate cold pasta salad and barbequed sausages along with some vegetables. We all had a wonderful time chatting and laughing. We came back home at 9:00pm. Mahisha and appa straight away went to bed.

The Football Fever Begins

Here comes the world cup football again. Gosh!! Look at how time flies. The madness begins again and going to stay for a month. Both this time and the previous time, I enjoy watching the game during prime time. Yeah, last time I was still in Malaysia. I was into a business of selling imitation football jersey join ventured with my brother. Well, I was his supplier. I can't believe that I actually did it.

There's nothing much happening here in Switzerland though they are participating in the game. Another thing is that, Switzerland is an immediate neighbour of Germany. Just next door. Unlike in Malaysia, though we don't participate, we still die for it. The Swiss are funny people or shall I say it correctly, NERDS!!! All they know is how to make money out of everything. The Brazilian team were in Switzerland for their final trainings. The Swiss, as usual, made business of it. They sold tickets to thousands for those who wanted to watch the training sessions.

Actually, I'm an England supporter but then, they got kick out during the quarterfinals of the previous world cup. Brazil and Germany met in the finals. My whole family was supporting Brazil. Therefore, to spice up the atmosphere, I purposely supported Germany, the opponent team. Even before the game started, I was already in my jersey, both top and bottom. I was jogging around my house as though I was training for the game. Amma said at my age, then, I was supposed to have children of my own but I was acting like a little kid myself. Though she was angry, she couldn't stop laughing at me. This time, as she wished, I'm already a mother of a bubbly 20 months old girl. She too plays football at home.

This time, I don't know if I would have much time to watch the games. Anyway, I'll keep myself updated. Again, I'm supporting both my fav teams, the English, the adorable chameleons and the German, the hardworking team.

Long live the Queen!!!!
Hopp Deutschland!!!!

Check out the date

Today is the 6th day of the 6th month of the year 2006. Which is shortly written as 06.06.06. Its triple 6!!! To some people, this would mean an omen day. To me, I think that it would bring me 3 times more luck as the number 6 means a lot to me. My numerological number (which is my date of birth, 24 added together) is 6. I was born in the 6th month of the calendar year. On top of those, hey my favourite number is also 6!

I believe that everything depends on how we take it. Either we look at it negatively and feel miserable about it or look at it in a positive way and be happy about the whole thing. The amount of energy consumed for both is the same. So, why feel sad and miserable when we can be happy and contended?

Am I Happy Or What!!!

I am so very happy today. For the 1st time ever I have got orders for cakes. The orders are for 4 moist chocolate cakes. Though it is the time of the month that I will be absolutely busy closing monthly accountings, I accepted the offer with a big heart and smile. The cakes are for the Malaysian Embassy’s function to be held on Saturday at the residence of the Ambassador for the Malaysians living in Switzerland. I am extremely happy that my baking has received recognition and being favoured.

I realised that I was too happy only after having my dinner. I could not believe that my fish curry tasted too good. It tasted like amma’s fish curry. I cooked black pomfret fish curry. We had a guest for dinner. Even he had a 2nd serving and cleaned his plate without a single grain of rice. Today I have learned something very important. When we are happy and contended, whatever we do though it is a simple little thing, it tends to come out excellently. We have to happily do something in order to gain the best result or outcome.
